I was soooo hoping, for these many years, as founding members that one day Thurmon and I would yell out! We connected Jill’s Elizabeth SACKETT married to IRS Howe to her Family! We have received the sad news that Thurmon King died last evening. He was aged 92.

Those of us who had the privilege of meeting Thurmon at Sackett family reunions will have happy memories of the warmth of his personality, of his kindness, and of his gentle sense of humor.

Thurmon was a founding member of the Sackett Family Association in 2003. He had already undertaken a huge amount of Sackett research before then and continued the work as Historian of the Association for many years after that.

Thurmon's Association member page is at https://www.sackettfamily.info/g0/p5.htm. His own words on that page reveal that he and Sylvia married four days after they graduated from high school. It may be reckoned that they were married about 73 years.

Our thoughts are with Sylvia at this time.
